Virginia Ruth Simpson

Virginia Gertrude Ruth Simpson, 89, of Hamlet, died Friday, March 16, 2007 at Britthaven of Hamlet. Mrs. Simpson was born February 4, 1918 in Baltimore County, Maryland, a daughter of the late Grover and Katherine Lentz Ruth. She had retired from Hochild Kohn Department Store as a floor manager. She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Herbert Simpson, a daughter, Kay Smith, and brothers, Grover, George, Howard and Donald Ruth. Surviving are her son, Frank Simpson, Jr. of White Hall Md, daughters, Rae Meryl Nicholson of Hamlet, Sallie Ann Simpson-White of Wilson, 24 grandchildren, and 32 great grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at 5:00 PM Wednesday in the Chapel of First United Methodist Church with Rev. Keith Nanney officiating. Private interment was held in Oaklawn Cemetery, Baltimore Maryland.
