Mary Lucille Hudson

Lucille G. Hudson Mary Lucille G. Newsom Hudson, 83, of 357 Battley Dairy Rd., Hamlet died Sunday, March 18, 2007 at her home. Mrs. Hudson was born March 21, 1923 in Richmond County, a daughter of the late Walter and Minnie Currie Garrett. She had been a member of Roberdel Baptist Church and a homemaker. Her first husband, Wayne Newsom and a brother, Branson Garrett preceded her in death. Surviving are her husband, J.D. Hudson of the home, sons and daughters in law, James A. and Nancy Newsom of Rockingham, Larry W. and Kay Newsom of Cornelius, grandchildren, Jill Newsom, Garrett Newsom, Abby and husband Jimmy Branton, and great granddaughter, Alli Branton. A service to celebrate her life will be held at 1:00 PM Tuesday in the Colonial Chapel of Carter Funeral Home with Wesley Williams and Rev. Leon Hawks officiating. Interment will follow in Eastside Cemetery. The family will see friends from 6:00 – 8:00 PM Monday at Carter Funeral Home and other times at the home on Battley Dairy Road.
