Bobby Wayne Benoist

Bobby Wayne Benoist, 67, of 124 Sandhurst Dr. Rockingham, died Monday, March 19, 2007 at his home. Mr. Benoist was born May 29, 1939 in Richmond County, a son of the late Clyde and Nancy Watts Benoist. He served his country in the US Army, attended New Hope Free Will Baptist Church and had retired from CSX Railroad as an electrician. His brothers Thomas, Jessie, Bill and Donald Benoist preceded him in death. Surviving are his wife, Joan Grant Benoist of the home, son Bruce Benoist of Rockingham, daughters, Tammy Benoist of Rockingham, Brenda Starling of Southport, Barbara Bridges of Wadesboro, 11 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. Also surviving are brothers, Grady Benoist, Kenneth Benoist, Charles Benoist and Ronnie Benoist all of Rockingham, Curtis Benoist of Hamlet, sisters, Helen Lampley and Sarah Benoist both of Rockingham. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM Thursday at Carter Funeral Home Colonial Chapel with Rev. Allen Hudson and Rev. Kenneth Benoist officiating. Interment will follow in Richmond County Memorial Park. The family will see friends from 6:00 – 8:00 PM Wednesday at Carter Funeral Home and at other times at the home on Sandhurst Dr. Memorials may be made to Community Hospice, 1220 Rockingham Rd.
