Mrs. Minnie Russell Wallace, 74, of 307 Curtis Drive, Rockingham died Friday, March 23, 2007 at First Health Moore Regional Hospital in Pinehurst. She was born November 22, 1932 in Richmond Co., a daughter of the late Mary Bell Greene and Robert Lineberry Russell. Mrs. Wallace retired from Burlington Industries in 1998 as a Lab Technician. She was an active and faithful member of Beverly Hills Baptist Church. She was Treasurer of the Gleaner’s Sunday School class and was active in the church tape ministry, delivering sermon tapes to shut-in members. Mrs. Wallace enjoyed visiting people in nursing homes. She was a loving mother. To many, she was a special and giving person. Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 pm Sunday, March 25th at Beverly Hills Baptist Church with Rev. Gary Webb officiating. Interment will follow in Richmond Memorial Park. Surviving are; a daughter, Norma King and husband Jeff of Rockingham; a son, Darrell Wallace and wife LuAnn of Greenville, SC; three grandchildren, Christy Russell of Ellerbe, Mary Lampley of Rockingham, and Drew Wallace of Greenville; one great grandchild, Dylan Lampley, a brother, Ben Thompson of Charlotte, and a special friend, Frank Henry of Rockingham, and many special nieces and nephews. Her husband, Douglas D. Wallace, and sisters, Juanita McGee and Elmina Lovin and brothers, Curtis Russell, Leonard Russell, and R. D. Russell preceded her in death.
