FUNERAL SERVICES FOR MRS. HAWKS HAVE BEEN CANCELED DUE TO INCLEMENT WEATHER. Private Graveside services will be held at a later date.Margaret Faye Baxley Hawks, Beloved Mama, “G” Ma, and Granny, 73 of 243 Bethany Road, Ellerbe, died peacefully surrounded by her family, Friday January 7, 2011, at Moore Regional Hospital in Pinehurst.She was the rock, mentor, and source of unconditional love for her family.Margaret was born November 5, 1937 in Richmond County, a daughter of the late Eddie H. Baxley and Rowena Dailey Baxley. She was a member of Bethel Baptist Church and had retired from Sara Lee Hosiery.She was preceded in death by her parents, brother, Edward “Buck” Baxley and sister, Mattie Hudson.She is survived by her children, Edna Maynor and husband Jim, Emily Keel and husband Benny, Danny Hawks and fiance’ Patty, Laurie Hawks-Saultz and husband Billy all of Ellerbe; Marian White and husband Danny of Rockingham; grandchildren, Josh Richardson and wife Hannah, Kelly Maree and husband Eric, Sam Richardson and wife Jennifer, Jimmy Maynor and wife Raven, Monroe Parsons, Joni Parsons, James Parsons and wife Denise, Erin and Kelly White; great grandchildren Garret, Lane, and Jake Richardson, Maddie and Autumn Maree, Alalee and Lilah Maynor, Natalie Richardson, Matt Parsons, Halle Sutton, Ethan and Grayson Clayton; a brother Joseph Baxley of Phoenix, AZ. She leaves behinds many special nieces, nephews, and best friends Jewell and Polly.She will be greatly missed by her two “four legged” companions Rose and Blue.Special thanks to her caregivers and friends Linda Thornehill and Carolyn Pittman, the staff at First Health Family Care Center, Ellerbe and Moore Regional Hospital in Pinehurst.The family will meet Sunday, January 9, 2011 at Carter Funeral Home in Ellerbe from 5:00-7:00 P.M. and at other times at 243 Bethany Rd. Ellerbe, NC 28338.A service to celebrate her life will be held at 11:00 A.M. Monday, January 10, 2011 at Carter Funeral Home, Ellerbe Chapel with Rev. Leon Hawks officiating. Interment will be private at a later date.In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Ellerbe Rescue Squad, Fellowship Baptist Church, Richmond County Humane Society, or Southside Freewill Baptist Church.
