Hazel Craven Petty

Hazel Craven Petty, age 91, a resident of Agape Senior of Conway, SC, formerly of the Mt. Creek Community, Ellerbe died January 17, 2011. Mrs. Petty was born December 17, 1919 in Richmond County, a daughter of the late Walter Hadley and Blonde Warner Craven. She was a member of Mt. Carmel Presbyterian Church and had retired from Stanley Furniture Company. Mrs. Petty was preceded in death by her son Sam Petty, sisters Jewel Henley, Mary Johnson, and a brother Edward Craven. She is survived by her daughter Fredricka Proveaux (Rodney) of Conway; a grandson, Ian Proveaux; a great-granddaughter, Abigail Proveaux of Myrtle Beach, SC; six sisters:Eula Brown, Alma Ligon, Fay McIntosh, Grace Robinson, Carol Friz, and Betsy Brewer. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 PM Friday at Mt. Carmel Presbyterian Church Cemetery in Ellerbe with Rev. Edsel Huffstetler officiating.
