Florence Bittle Young

Ms. Florence Colene Bittle Young, 71 of Hamlet died Tuesday, January 18, 2011 at Richmond Pines Healthcare in Hamlet. She was born September 19, 1939 in Richmond County a daughter of the late Ed Albert and Willie V. Simpson Bittle. She was a member of Believers Outreach Ministries and retired from textiles. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Carl Young, one son Doug Young and three brothers Thomas, Woodrow, and Dewey Bittle. She is survived by one daughter Karen Brady of Southern Pines, one brother Paul Bittle of Rockingham and two sisters, Willie Mae Boling and Elsie Callahan both of Rockingham, two grandchildren and one great grandchild. Funeral services will be held Friday at 2:00 P.M. at Carter Funeral Home Colonial Chapel with Rev. Tommy Weatherford officiating. Interment will follow at Ellerbe Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday from 6:00-8:00 P.M. at the funeral home in Rockingham and at other times at the home of her brother Paul Bittle.
