Harold Eugene Lampley

Harold Eugene Lampley, 75, of Hamlet, died Friday, January 21, 2011 at his home. Mr. Lampley was born December 30, 1935 in Richmond County, a son of the late McKinnon and Julia Webb Lampley. He was a member of Mt. Beulah Pentecostal Holiness Church and had been employed with both Maytag Corporation and JC Penny Company, as a repairman. He was preceded in death by a grandson, David Pate and a brother Mitchell Lampley. Surviving are his wife of 44 years, Edna Huffman Lampley of the home; children, Susan Lampley Parsons and husband William of Ellerbe, Cindy Pate and husband Butch of Pineville, Chuck Lampley and wife Beth of Laurel Hill ,; grandchildren, Amber and Chris Lampley of Rockingham, Chris Webb of Ellerbe, Allan and Sharon Parsons of Albemarle, Hailey Pate of Pineville, Donald and Liz Pate of Heath Springs, SC, Jamie McCall of Albemarle, Christy and Steve Wyatt of Waxhaw, John Lampley, David Lampley, Karen Lampley and Terry Lampley, all of Laurel Hill; eleven great grandchildren; brothers, Odom Lampley , Edward Lampley and Earl Lampley, all of Rockingham; and a sister, Peggy Clarke of Rockingham. Funeral services will be held at 5:00 pm Monday in the Colonial Chapel of Carter Funeral Home with Rev. Rachel Lampley and Rev. Joey Byrd officiating. Interment will be private. The family will see friends following the service at the funeral home and at other times at the home. The family wishes to express their sincere appreciation to Jennifer Rhyne, Amy Deese and Maria Cobbler for their compassion and care during Harold’s illness.
