Belle McRae Wallace

Belle McRae Stogner Wallace, 103, of Charlotte, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, April 10, 2007 at Avante` Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Charlotte. Mrs. Wallace was born October 19, 1903 in Richmond County, one of eleven children, to the late William Henry and Sarah Dawkins McRae. She was a longtime member of First United Methodist Church in Charlotte where she was honored on her 100th birthday. East Baptist Church in Charlotte also honored her with a memorable centurion birthday celebration. Since those special times, she has been a resident at the Avante` center. Mrs. Wallace is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Bernie, Jr. and Carolyn Stogner of Charlotte and one sister, Sara Reynolds of McAlpine Towers of Charlotte. A service to celebrate her life will be held at 2:00 pm Thursday from the graveside at Eastside Cemetery in Rockingham. The family will greet friends from 12:30 – 1:30 PM Thursday at Carter Funeral Home in Rockingham. Mrs. Wallace’s family would like to thank the nursing staff of Avante` for the loving care they provided Mrs. Wallace. Also many thanks to her friends at First United Methodist and East Baptist Churches for all their prayers and support.
