Roy Levern Grooms

Roy Levern Grooms, 71 of 174 Shannon Drive Rockingham died Monday, February 14, 2011 at his home. Mr. Grooms was born December 6, 1939 in Chesterfield County, S.C. a son of the late Archie and Eva McLain Grooms. He served his country in the U.S. Army. He worked in Construction. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one brother James Grooms. He is survived by two sons Kevin Grooms of Charlotte and Keith Grooms of Rockingham and one daughter Kelly Grooms Luce of Cordova and one stepson Rev. Ken Shipley of Pinebluff, one brother John Grooms of Riverside California and one grandchild. A memorial service will be held Thursday February 17, 2011 at 11:00 A.M. at Cordova Baptist Church with Rev. Bill Monroe and Rev. Ken Shipley officiating. The family will receive friends after the service and at other times at his daughter house at 110 Church St. Cordova. The family request in lieu of flowers that memorial be made to the American Diabetes Association 3109 Poplarwood Ct. Suite 125. Raleigh, N.C. 27604-1043.
