G.C. Goffie Carlyle Luther

Mr. “G.C.” Goffie Carlyle Luther, 87 of Clemmons N.C passed away Saturday, February 19, 2011 at Forsyth Medical Center. G.C was born in Wallace, S.C. February 11, 1924 a son of the late Carl and Edna Mae Luther. He served his country in WW II in the U.S. Army. He was a logging contractor and sawmill operator. He is survived by his children Carl R. Luther of Clemmons and Bruce D. Luther of Rockingham and Cynthia S. Shutt of Clemmons N.C. and a sister Lela Mae Edwards of Burnham, Pa., 6 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Monday, February 21, 2011 at 11:00 A.M. at Carter Funeral Home Chapel in Ellerbe with Rev. Roger Paxton officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday from 6:00-8:00 P.M.at Carter Funeral Home in Ellerbe. Memorial may be made to The Cemetery Fund at Mt.
