Evelyn Driggers McNeil

Evelyn Driggers Eddings Wright McNeil, 91, of Gattis St., Cordova, died Sunday, February 27, 2011 at her home. Mrs. McNeil was born August 9,1919 in Marlboro County, SC, a daughter of the late Ed and Bessie Grant Driggers. She was a member of Sweet Haven Church and had previously worked with Carolina Paper Company, Buttercup Creamory and the Brown Derby Restaurant. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Carl Eddings, and James McNeil, son Larry Eddings and daughter Cynthia Eddings. Surviving are sons, Pete Eddings of Panacea, FL, William Wright of Lenoir; daughters, Dora Morrison of Rapid City, SD, Vivian Clark of Cordova, Rhonda Butler and Pam Carnes of Rockingham; a sister, Gertrude Mudd of Rockingham; 20 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm Wednesday at Sweet Haven Church with Rev. Mitchell Roller officiating. The family will see friends following the service at the church
