Frank Garrett Smith

Frank Garrett Smith, 88, of Ellerbe, died Monday, March 14, 2011 at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center in Fayetteville. Mr. Smith was born August 27, 1922 in Richmond County, a son of the late Richmond David and Martha Frances Frazier Smith. He had graduated from Ellerbe High School, served his country in the US Navy during World War II, and graduated from Northwest College of Commerce. He had retired from Armour and Co. as comptroller and was a member of Rourk Presbyterian Church. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Tobin Smith, brothers, Grover and Frazier Smith and a sister, Anna Mae Culler. Surviving are several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 3:30 pm Thursday at Rourk Presbyterian Church with Rev. John Stone officiating. Interment will follow in Ellerbe Cemetery with military honors.
