Barbara Sessoms Benson

Mrs. Barbara Sessoms Benson, 62 of Rockingham died Tuesday, March 15, 2011 at Sandhills Regional Hospital in Hamlet. Barbara was born January 7, 1949, the first child born in Henrietta, Texas that year, for this distinction, the town gave her a pair of red cowboy boots. She was a daughter of the late Herbert H. and Theresa Kish Sessoms. She worked as an Office manager in real estate and was a member of the Class of 1967 at Rohanen High School. She was a member of Victory Baptist Church. She was also preceded in death by her first husband Richard Kelly and stepdaughter Pattie Benson West. She is survived by her husband David Benson of the home, one daughter Wendy Kelly Jordan and husband Butch of Rockingham and four grandchildren, Noah Jordan, Casey, Carlie, and Chandler West. A service to celebrate Barbara’s life will be held Friday, March 18 at 2:00 P.M. at Victory Baptist Church with Rev. Russell Edwards officiating. Interment will be private. The family will receive friends Thursday from 6:00-8:00 P.M. at Carter Funeral Home in Rockingham and at other times at the home.
