Gwen Aycock Pitchford

Gwen A. Pitchford, 69, of 135 Lady Mary Lane Rockingham, NC died Thursday March 24, 2011 at First Health Moore Regional Hospital Pinehurst, NC Funeral services will be conducted 2 PM Saturday March 26 at Carter Colonial Chapel in Rockingham. Burial will follow in Richmond County Memorial Park Cemetery. Born June 7, 1941 in Durham Co, NC she was the daughter of the late Theodore and Naomi Mooney Aycock. She was a homemaker and was preceeded in death by her husband Dwight Lee Pitchford. She is survived by sons; Dwayne Pitchford of Hamlet, Danny and Donnie Pitchford both of Charlotte, her daughter Sandra P. Nunn of Rockingham, a sister Betty Smith of Hamlet and her eight grandchildren. Also surviving are her sisters-in law; Lorean Coffey and husband Jim of Forrest City, Lula Mae Pitchford also of Forrest City, NC and Jane Pitchford of Rockingham. The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM Friday evening at Carter Funeral Home in Rockingham and other times at her daughter’s home, 494 Wiregrass Road Rockingham, NC.
