Paula M. Johnson

Paula Marie Johnson, 67, of Ellerbe, NC, formerly of Columbus, OH, passed away on Thursday, April 7, 2011. Paula was born on January 18, 1944, in Columbus, OH to the late Harry and Maryellen (Windesheim) Johnson. Along with her parents Paula was preceded in death by her only son Victor Matheson. Paula was the owner operator of Pet Parade Pet Stores in Rockingham, NC. She had an adventuress spirit which led her to being a Fishing Boat Captain, obtaining her Pilots License, enjoying Scuba Diving, Photography, Antique Collecting, Hunting and a practitioner of Judo. Paula was also a supporter and participant in the US Army Special Forces "Robin Sage" training exercises. She was the first lifetime member of the Richmond County Humane Society. Paula is survived by her daughters, Valeriea and husband Dave Zeune of Alexandria, OH, Irene Matheson of Ellerbe, NC. Lulu and husband Kevin Clark of Johnstown, OH; brothers, Mike and wife Donna and Tom and wife Wanda Thomas both of VA.; sister, Silvia and husband Steve Wilson of Columbus, OH.; eight grandchildren and four great grand children. A memorial service will be held at 10:00 A.M. Saturday April 30, 2011 at 110 Dream Valley Road Ellerbe N.C. In lieu of flowers memorials may be sent to the Humane Society of Richmond County P.O.
