Michael Francis Boylan, Jr

Michael Francis Boylan, Jr., 81, of 765 Bennett Rd., Ellerbe, died Wednesday, April 27, 2011 at his home. Mr. Boylan was born January 1, 1930 in Pittsburgh, PA, a son of the late Michael Francis and Etta Call Boylan. He had served his country in the US Army, 82nd Airborne Division during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of First Baptist Church, Ellerbe, the VFW and the Association of the United States Army, Braxton Bragg Chapter. He had been employed by L.G. Dewitt Trucking Co and had retired from Burlington Industries. He was preceded in death by a step-daughter, Teresa Mabe. Surviving are his wife, Jean Kilby Boylan of the home; step-sons, Terry Butler of Barco, NC, Allen Blevins of Bozier City, La, Steve Blevins of Asheboro; step-daughters, Gloria Leviner and Kathy Cook, both of Cheraw, SC, Donna Harter of Florence, SC, Linda Richardson of Elizabethtown, NC; 17 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren; and sisters, Pat Marchand of Bloomingdale, IL and Lynn Ricker of Rockingham. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Friday in the Ellerbe Chapel of Carter Funeral Home with Rev. Jim Brown officiating. Interment will follow in Ellerbe Cemetery. The family will see friends from 12:30 – 1:30 pm Friday at the funeral home and at other times at the home on Bennett Road.
