Walter Emerson Bullard

Walter Emerson Bullard, 85, of 153 McQueen St., Rockingham, died Friday, May 20, 2011 at Richmond Pines Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center in Hamlet. Mr. Bullard was born May 7, 1926 in Moore County, NC, a son of the late Michael William and Esther Mann Bullard. He had served his country in the US Navy during World War II, was a member of West Rockingham United Methodist Church and had retired from Clark Equipment. He was preceded in death by his wife, Grace McLemore Bullard in 2004. Surviving are sons, Keith Bullard and Steve Bullard, both of Rockingham; daughters, Debbie Rohleder and Penny Braddock, both of Rockingham; brother, Gene Bullard of Rockingham; sister, Ethel Peele of Rockingham and nine grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Monday at West Rockingham United Methodist Church with Rev. Don Dawkins officiating. Interment will follow in Eastside Cemetery. The family will see friends from 6:00 – 8:00 pm Sunday at Carter Funeral Home in Rockingham and at other times at the home on McQueen St. Memorials may be made to West Rockingham United Methodist Church or to Our Daily Bread Christian Food Ministries.
