Herman Ervin Burgess

Mr. Herman Ervin Burgess 76, of 137 Hallmark Ave. Hamlet died Tuesday May 24, 2011 at Carolina Medical Center in Charlotte. Mr. Burgess was born in Scotland County February 20, 1935 a son of the late Jona and Lee Wilkes Burgess. He was retired from The U.S. Air Force after serving 24 years for his country. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother Charles Burgess one son Frankie Burgess and one Grandson Jason Burgess. He is survived by his wife Georgia Jackson Burgess of the home, two sons Michael Burgess and wife Susan of Lancaster S.C. Randall Burgess of Spartanburg S.C, two daughter Deloris B Gallier of Tampa Fla., and Donna Boan and husband Dewayne of Cheraw S.C., grandchildren Brian Burgess, Alex Gallier, Sean Gallier, Chad Burgess, Jerry Allen Robinson, Zack Burgess, Nikki Leviner, Candace Burgess, And Amanda Burgess, great grandchildren Ava Caulder, Zack Robinson and nieces Jackie Johnson, Shelia Green, Cyndie Woessner,and one nephew Allen Burgess. Funeral services will be held Saturday May 28, 2011 at 11:00 A.M. at Carter Funeral Home Colonial Chapel with Rev. Brad Leviner officiating. Interment will follow at Richmond County Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Friday night from 6:00-8:00 P.M. at Carter Funeral Home in Rockingham and at other time at the home.
