Willie Mae Bittle Boling

Mrs. Willie Mae Bittle Boling 79, of Hamlet went home to be with her Lord and Savior on June 16, 2011. She was born September 27, 1931 in Richmond County, a daughter of the late Ed and Willie Simpson Bittle . A homemaker, she enjoyed reading, gardening and crocheting. She was preceded in death by her husband, Colon A. Boling, brothers, Thomas, Woodrow and Dewey Bittle and a sister, Colene Bittle Young. Surviving are her son, Mike Bittle of Lexington, SC, ; daughters, LuAnn McPhatter and husband Jim of Wagram, Kathy Gilliam and husband Donnie of Rockingham; step-children, Duran Boling and wife Betty of Lilesville, Jeanine Brinkley of Raleigh, Glen Boling of Rockingham; 12 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; brother, Paul Bittle of Rockingham; and sister Elsie Callahan of Rockingham. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 pm Sunday at Touch of Grace Free Will Baptist Church with Rev. Dennis Smith officiating. Interment will follow in Richmond County Memorial Park. The family will see friends from 6:00 – 8:00 pm Saturday at Carter Funeral Home in Rockingham and at other times at 112 Axle Lane, Hamlet.
