Anna was born in Mt. Airy, NC on May 1, 1923 and passed away on June 17, 2011 in Charlotte, surrounded by her five children: Carolyn Eastridge of Opelika, AL; Brenda Evans of Stanley; James Mabe of Monroe; Don Mabe of Charlotte; and Lynn Keeter of Charlotte. She loved her family and many friends and shared with them her love of flowers, ice cream sandwiches, fishing, bingo and shopping. Mrs. Keeter moved to Charlotte after the death of her husband, Melvin Keeter, in 1991 and was a resident of The Dorchester in Pineville for the past six years. In addition to her children, she leaves behind sisters Ivery Curry and Ida Tunstall, brothers Stewart King and JD King, all of Rockingham, numerous nephews and nieces, eleven grandchildren and nineteen great grandchildren. She was an outgoing person who also had many friends. Her family wishes to acknowledge her special friends Kathleen, Irene and Christine who shared good times with her during her years in Charlotte. Visitation will be Sunday evening June 19th from 6 to 8, and a memorial service will be held at 11 a.m Monday June 20th, both at the Carter Funeral Home, 705 South Caroline St. in Rockingham. Burial will be at Green Lake Cemetery in Rockingham.
