Adelle Dees Mercer

Adelle Mercer Mrs. Adelle Dees Mercer 91, of 194 Sandhills Rd. Rockingham died Sunday June 3, 2007 at her home. Mrs. Mercer was born December 17, 1915 in Richmond County a daughter of the late Raymond and Tina Arrand Dees. She was of the Baptist faith and worked in textiles as a spinner. She was preceded in death by her husband Joseph Mercer in 1991 as well as a son-in-law Mitchell Goodwin and a Grandson Tommy Sanders. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, June 6, 2007 at 11:00 am at Carter Funeral Home Colonial Chapel in Rockingham with the Rev. James Lander officiating. Interment will follow at Floral Garden Memorial Park in High Point. She is survived by a daughter Betty Jean Goodwin of Rockingham and two Grandchildren Deborah Clewis and husband Christopher with whom she made her home, and Brenda Delk of Thomasville NC, five Great Grandchildren and Seven Great Great Grandchildren. The family will receive friends Tuesday June 5, 2007 from 6:00-8:00 pm at Carter Funeral Home of Rockingham and at other times at the home on Sandhills Rd. The family would like to give a special thanks to Community Home and Hospice nurses.
