Gladys Brown

Our beloved mother, Gladys Brigman Brown, went home to be with her Lord and Savior, and her husband, Ernest T. Brown and her loved ones on Monday, August 1, 2011. Mrs. Brown was born May 6, 1928 in Marlboro County, SC, a daughter of the late James and Alean McDougald Brigman. She had retired from Aleo Manufacturing Company and in addition to her husband, was preceded in death by a great grandson, Thomas Allen Lowery Owens. Surviving are sons, Gary Brown of Raleigh, Ernest Brown and wife Wanda of Rockingham, Vincent Brown and wife Kris of Rockingham; daughters, Wanda Kay Barrington of Rockingham, Carolyn Lowery and husband Chuck of Rockingham, Vanessa Edelen and husband Ricky of Springfield, KY, Deanna Brown of Conway, SC; 15 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandchild; brothers, Melton Brigman of Hartsville, SC, Bobby Brigman of Rockingham; sister, Dorothy B. Allen of Rockingham; and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm Friday in the Colonial Chapel of Carter Funeral Home with Rev. Lloyd Grant, Jr. officiating. Interment will follow in Eastside Cemetery. The family will see friends from 7:00 – 8:30 pm Thursday at the funeral home and at other times at the home on Sandhill Rd.
