William Martin Robinson

William Martin Robinson, 81, of Ellerbe, died Friday, September 23, 2011 at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital in Pinehurst. Mr. Robinson was born January 1, 1930 in Montgomery County, NC, a son of the late Luther Martin and Nova Thomas Robinson. He had been a member of First Baptist Church, Ellerbe, attended Jones Springs United Methodist Church, an avid foxhunter and was a member of West End Masonic Lodge #654, AF&AM. He was a US Marine Corps veteran of the Korean War, a member of American Legion Post 49 and retired as owner operator of Dewitt& Robinson Tire Company. Surviving are his wife of 54 years, Irene Hunsucker Robinson of the home. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Tuesday at Carter Funeral Home Ellerbe Chapel with Rev. Dena White and Rev. Bob Carpenter officiating. Interment will follow in Candor Town Cemetery. The family will see friends from 12:30 – 1:30 pm Tuesday at the funeral home and at other times at the home.
