Mrs. Mary Tise Sessoms, 94 , of 606 Scotland Avenue, Rockingham went to be with her Lord and Savior Monday, July 9, 2007 at First Health Moore Regional Hospital in Pinehurst. She was born December 19, 1912 in Guilford Co., a daughter of the late William Franklin Tise and Mary Welch Tise. Mrs. Sessoms was a long time member of First Baptist Church in Rockingham and was retired from Richmond Memorial Hospital with twenty-three years of service. She will be remembered for her steadfast devotion to her family and many friends. She touched the lives of many people with her hospitality and kindness and will be greatly missed. Surviving are two sons, Charles A. “Tony” Sessoms and wife Anita of Raleigh and Franklin T. Sessoms and wife Mary of Pinehurst; two sisters, Willie T. Smith of High Point and Zelma T. Carter of Roanoke, VA; a brother, Donald O. Tise of Greensboro; six grandchildren, Richard Walter Sessoms and wife Tina, Toni Lynn Sessoms, Anne Elizabeth Burns and husband Keith, Lauren Sessoms Rivers, Audrey Sessoms Daughtry and husband Jimmy, and Nicole Sessoms Fox, and eight great grandchildren. Mrs. Sessoms was preceded in death by her husband of sixty years, Richard Hampton ‘RH’ Sessoms in 1992, a son, Richard D. Sessoms, a brother, William ‘Bill’ Tise and five step brothers and sisters. Funeral services will be conducted 12:00 pm Wednesday, July 11th in the chapel of Carter Funeral Home in Rockingham with Rev. David Phillips officiating. Interment will follow in Eastside cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10:45 am to 11:45 am Wednesday prior to the service at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church, 201 N. Randolph St., Rockingham, NC 28379.
