Beatrice Langley McCumbee, 93, of Rockingham, passed away Thursday, October 13, 2011 at Somerset Court in Hamlet. Mrs. McCumbee was born January 15, 1918 in Richmond County, NC, a daughter of the late Weldon and Amanda Cumber Langley. She was a member of Sweet Haven Church, had been employed with Aleo Manufacturing Company, where she was a member of the Women’s Club and was the owner of Bea’s Beauty Salon. She was preceded in death by her husband Homer McCumbee. Bea was happiest when she was in her yard working in her flower garden. Surviving are her sons, Homer W. “ Buddy” McCumbee of Rockingham, Terrence A. “ Terry” McCumbee and wife Patti of Wilmington; daughter, Linda M. Barker and husband Larry of Columbia, SC; 11 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; brothers, Rev. George Langley of Bladenboro N.C, Homer Langley of Texas, John Langley of Rockingham; and a sister, Bernice Crumbley of Hamlet. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Sunday at Sweet Haven Church with Rev. Mitchell Roller officiating. Interment will follow in Richmond County Memorial Park. The family will see friends from 3:00 – 5:00 pm Saturday at Carter Funeral Home and at other times at the home of Shamain and Tommy Lill, 111 W. Temple Ave., Rockingham.
