William M. Webster

William Manley Webster, 84, of Rockingham, died Saturday, October 29, 2011 at Rockingham Manor. Mr. Webster was born December 29, 1926 in Richmond County, a son of the late John Robert and Leona Lassiter Webster. He was also preceded in death by one brother Johnny Webster and two sisters, Viola Lett, and Ila Mae Turner. He was a member of East Rockingham United Methodist Church, had served his country in the US Army during WWII and had retired from the Bibb Co. Mr. Webster is survived by his wife, Nellie Smith Webster of Rockingham; son William E. “Bill” Webster and wife Wanda of Rockingham; one grandchild Samantha Webster of Charlotte; and sisters Isabel Clay and husband Leslie of San Antonio, TX, Susie Goodwin and husband Richard, and Ruth Burns both of Rockingham. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday at Richmond County Memorial Park with Rev. Tom Hill officiating. The family will see friends from 6:00-8:00 P.M. Tuesday at Carter Funeral Home in Rockingham and at other times at the home. Memorial may be made to Richmond County Hospice 1119 Hwy #1 North Rockingham N.C. 28379
