Elcie Allen Shepard

Mr. Elcie Allen Shepard, 79, of 271 Crawford Rd. Ellerbe, went to be with his Lord on Monday, July 23, 2007at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital in Pinehurst. Mr. Shepard was born February 2, 1928 in Montgomery County, a son of the late John G. and Villa Blake Shepard. He had been a member of First Baptist Church since October 10, 1951 when he accepted the Lord as his Savior. He retired from the NC Department of Transportation after 23 years of service. In addition to his parents, an infant son, Shane Shepard, infant granddaughter, Christie Shepard, sisters, Ann S. Mangum of Angier, NC, Dorothy S. Lemons of Asheboro, NC, his brothers, Leroy Shepard, Walton Shepard and John W. Shepard, all of Norman preceded him in death. Surviving are his wife of 55 years, Lucille Lockhart Shepard of the home, a daughter, Elsie Shepard Freeman and husband Lee of Raleigh, two sons, Jerry Shepard and fiancé, Marie Sessoms, of Ellerbe, Jeff Shepard and wife Joyce of Ellerbe, a sister, Louise S. Goins of Denton, NC and a brother, Herbert Shepard of Ramsuer. Also surviving are grandchildren, Sam Shepard, Jeffrey Shepard, both of Ellerbe, Felicia Shepard of Mt. Gilead, and great grandchildren, Kendall, Samuel and Brian. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 P M Wednesday at First Baptist Church in Ellerbe with Rev. Jim Brown officiating. Interment will follow in Ellerbe Cemetery. The family will see friends from 6:00 –8:00 PM Tuesday at Carter Funeral Home in Ellerbe and at other times at the home on Crawford Rd.
