James Shankle

James Shankle, 68, of 1952 Haire Road, Ft. Mill, SC died Friday November18, 2011 at Carolina's Medical Center, Charlotte. Funeral services will be conducted 2:30 pm Monday November 21, 2011 at Newkirk Baptist Church, Rock Hill, SC., the Rev. Randy Shankle will officiate. The family will receive friends one hour prior to services at the church on Monday. Burial will be 12:00 Tuesday at New Hope United Methodist Church Cemetery on US #1 South, Wallace, SC. The family will receive their friends, in the Rockingham area, one hour prior to burial on Tuesday at Carter Funeral Home in Rockingham. James was born October 14, 1943 in Richmond County, NC a son of the late Johnny and Albertha Rainwater Shankle. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brothers; Floyd, John and Donald Shankle. He was a puncture sealant operator with General Tire in Charlotte for 26 years, He was a member of Newkirk Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife, Ruby Lathan Shankle of the home, a son Tommy Shankle and wife Angie of Lincolnton, NC., a daughter, Rhonda Russell and husband Jeff of Tega Cay, SC., brothers; Clarence Shankle of Chicago, Ill. and Earl Wayne Shankle of Ft. Mill, SC. He is also survived by his four granddaughters. The family would like to thank the Doctors and Nurses of CMC ICU, especially Scott Brown and the Doctors and Nurses of the CMC liver Transplant Center. Carter Funeral Home of Rockingham is assisting the Shankle family.
