On Friday, November 25, 2011, Twana Rose Meece, was called home to meet her loving Lord and Savior. She was born April 11, 1959 to Reverend Carl and Sarah Grace Strickland. She spent her life bringing joy to those around her. After earning a Master’s Degree in Education, she made a career of helping children with special needs in Bennettsville , South Carolina Public Schools, while at the same time serving as a loving mother and caring wife. During her brief stay here on earth, she touched a countless multitude of people with her infectious smile and gift of giving. She was preceded in death by her mother and father and oldest sibling, Larry Strickland of Browns Summit. She is survived by her faithful husband, Wayne Meece, children: Tommy Meece and wife Stacy of Myrtle Beach, Susan Meece of Siler City, and Alan Meece, of the home; three grandchildren, four siblings, Sharon Molina and husband Jerry, Joy Smith, Tim Strickland and wife Eileen, and Susan Strickland, along with a multitude of nieces, nephews, aunts, and uncles. The family will receive visitors at Carter Funeral Home in Rockingham on Tuesday, November 29th from 6:00 to 8:00 pm. Funeral will be held at the Church of God of Prophecy in Rockingham on Wednesday, November 30th at 2:00 P.M. Donations may be made to the Church of God of Prophecy Building Fund. Reverend Steve Gilmer and Reverend Fred Fisher will be officiating.
