Marjorie S. Parsons Marjorie Colleen Stutts Parsons, 89, of 141 Crawford Rd. passed away Saturday, July 28, 2007 at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital in Pinehurst. Mrs. Parsons was born May 9, 1918 in Montgomery County a daughter of the late Rufus Halley and Ida Lou Martin Stutts. She graduated from Candor High School where she was voted Best All Around by her senior class and a graduate of Albemarle Beauty School. She was a longtime member of First Presbyterian Church, PCA, where she had been a member of the choir, a Sunday school teacher, church historian, and a deacon. She was an avid quilter and seamstress, she entertained senior citizens at senior centers and at age 86 retired from Marjorie’s Beauty Shop in Ellerbe. Her beloved husband of 64 years, D.C. Parsons, her brother, Clifton Stutts, and her sisters, Bernice Haywood and Joyce Ann Stutts, preceded her in death. She was a devoted wife, mother and "Mema" and an inspiration to all. Surviving are her children, Larry Parsons and wife Vickie of Fort Mill SC, Susan DeWitt and husband David of Ellerbe, and Miggie Hedrick of Ellerbe, grandchildren, Betsy Bean of Candor, Lori Clark (Tim) of Rockingham, Dana Bowman (Tim) of Rockingham, Doug Parsons of Ellerbe, Rickie DeWitt (Sharon) of Ellerbe, Chris DeWitt (Dawn) of Ellerbe, Jad Talbert (Beth) of Ellerbe, Heather Hicks (Chris) of Raleigh, great grandchildren, Dani Lammonds (Neil), Ande Perkins (Shane), Lauren Clark, Alex Clark, Hunter Bowman, Taylor Bowman, Jordan DeWitt, Brooke DeWitt, Devin DeWitt, Jake DeWitt, Braxton Talbert, Gavin Talbert, Aiden Talbert, Aavin Hicks, and great great grandchildren, Jamye Lammonds, and Blaine Perkins. Also surviving are her brother, Herman Stutts (Naomi) of Ellerbe, and a sister, Edna Stutts of Mt. Gilead. A service to celebrate the life of Marjorie Parsons will be held at 11:00 AM Monday at Ellerbe First Presbyterian Church, PCA with Rev. James Watson and Rev. Edsel Huffstetler officiating. Interment will follow in Ellerbe Cemetery. The family will see friends from 4:00 – 6:00 PM Sunday in the fellowship hall of First Presbyterian Church in Ellerbe and at other times at the Parsons home on Crawford Rd.
