Sallie Mae Wright

Sallie Mae Locklear Wright, 81 of Ellerbe went to be with her Lord and Savior for Christmas on Friday, December 9, 2011 at her home. Sallie Mae was born in Scotland County on October 30, 1930, a daughter of the late Douglas and Sally Kay Locklear. She was also preceded in death by her husband Roy Wright. Sallie was a loving Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother and a Great-Great Grandmother. She loved to make quilts for her family and friends, and cooking gave her great joy. She retired from Common Wealth Hosiery Mill where she was a seamstress. She is survived by her children, sons Donnie Wright and wife Donna of Ellerbe, Davis Wright and wife Mary Pat of S.C., daughters Eomie Sasser and husband Merle of Ellerbe and Rusty Tilley and husband Eugene Tilley of Ellerbe, brother Arnold Locklear and wife Alice of Rockingham and sister Nancy Locklear of Laurinburg, her grandchildren JoAnne and Ken Dillman, Kristy Sasser, Robert Sasser, Jeremy Wright, Jessica and Rick Hogan, Bill Wright, Susan Wright, Calvin and Wendy Tilley, Belinda and Ricky Mabe, Kim Tillman, 17 Great Grandchildren and 1 Great Great Grandchild. Funeral services will be held Monday at 2:00 P.M. at Fellowship Baptist Church with Rev. Kevin Thompson officiating. Interment will follow at Ellerbe Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday from 3:00-5:00 P.M. at Carter Funeral Home in Ellerbe and at other time at the home.
