Grady Beacher Holland

Grady Beacher Holland, 88, of Ellerbe, died Sunday, December 18, 2011 at his home. Mr. Holland was born February 15, 1923 in Alamance County, a son of the late Garrett “Pop” and Myrtle Bridges Holland. He was a retired driver for Hammersmith Trucking and had also been employed with Sealed Air Corporation. He was preceded in death by his siblings, Charles and Tommy Holland, Joyce Everhart and Nancy Romey. Surviving are Kathleen Raines of the home; her children, William Raines of Ellerbe, James Raines of the home, Kathy Wilson of Ellerbe, Susie Raines of Ellerbe, Linda Taylor of Rockingham and Lisa Raines of the home;8 step grandchildren and 9 step great-grandchildren; and a brother, Larry Holland of Charlotte. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 pm Wednesday at Ellerbe Cemetery with Bob Vetter, Richmond County Hospice Chaplain, officiating. The family will see friends from 12:30 – 1:30 pm Wednesday at Carter Funeral Home in Ellerbe.
