Dorothy Sandford

Mrs. Dorothy Price Sandford, 84, of 203 Woodland Rd., Rockingham died Monday, August 20, 2007 at Rockingham Manor. She was born December 28, 1922 in Wayne County, a daughter of the late Alice Price and Daniel Darius Price. Mrs. Sandford was a member of Zion United Methodist Church. She was a graduate of the Raleigh School of Commerce and retired with forty years as the Office Manager with the North Carolina Forestry Service. Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 22nd at Zion United Methodist Church in Rockingham with Rev. Ray Brooks and Rev. Jim Pearson officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the church. Interment will be Thursday morning at Pineview Cemetery in Wayne County. Surviving are a son, Gordon Sandford of the home; a sister, Audrey P. Bell of Mount Olive; and a brother, Dortch Price of Mount Olive. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bob C.
