Barbara Rogers

Barbara Blackmon Rogers, 72 of Rockingham passed away Thursday, February 16. 2012 at her home. Barbara was born December 31, 1939 in Lancaster S.C a daughter of the late Baxter Blackmon and Katherine Taylor Blackmon McCormick and step-father Walter J. McCormick She was a member of Beverly Hills Baptist Church and was Owner and Operator of American Welding. She was preceded in death by her husband Larry Rogers. She is survived by her son David Rogers of the home, four daughters Tammy Canupp and husband David of Rockingham, Cathy Baker and husband Lance of Portsmouth Va., Michelle Reinhold and husband Lawrence of Hampstead N.C., and Sherry Lewis and husband Lanny of Rockingham, her fiancée Ebbie W. Poplin, two brothers Alvin Blackmon of Rockingham and Hugh Gurano of Little River, S.C., and her sister-in-law Christy Sellars and husband Charlie; eight grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Monday, February 20, 2012 at 2:00 P.M. at Beverly Hills Baptist Church with Rev. Mickey Briles officiating. Interment will follow at Richmond County Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Sunday from 3:00-5:00 P.M. at Carter Funeral Home in Rockingham and at other times at the home.
