Mrs. Audrey Dabbs Watts, 76, of 516 Scotland Ave., Rockingham died Monday, August 27, 2007 at First Health Moore Regional Hospital in Pinehurst. Mrs. Watts was born May 9, 1931 in Richmond County, a daughter of the late Maggie Ussery Dabbs and William Bryant Dabbs. Mrs. Watts was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday School for many years. She was retired from Richmond Savings and Loan. Mrs. Watts was a member of the Red Hat Society and the Richmond County Woman’s Club. Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 am Wednesday, August 29th at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Surviving are a daughter, Beth W. Pettit and husband Terry of Rockingham; two grandsons who were the apple of grandmother’s eye, Matthew Wayne Pettit and Michael Lloyd Pettit; two sisters, Lois D. Dawkins of Easley, SC and Sarah D. Featherston of Rockingham; a brother, W. B. Dabbs of Memphis, TN, and a step daughter, Tera Leigh Pettit of Myrtle Beach, SC. Mrs. Watts was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin Lloyd Watts, and two brothers, John Riley Dabbs and James Wiley Dabbs, and a sister, Bobbie Nordick.
