Alene Lee Moore Wiggins, 71, of Rockingham, passed away Sunday, February 26, 2012 at her home. Alene was born May 1, 1940 in Durham, NC, a daughter of the late Henry Moore and the late Virginia Hudgins Moore Henderson. She was an active member of the Rockingham Church of God of Prophecy, where she had been a Sunday School Teacher, member of the choir and former pianist. She was a licensed Evangelist with the Church of God of Prophecy. She had been employed with Burlington Industries, Biscuitville, Hardees and several day care centers and was a volunteer at FirstHealth Richmond Memorial Hospital. She was preceded in death by her sisters, Paula Moore and Sandra Morgan. Surviving are her husband, Allison B. Wiggins of the home; sons, Allison B. Wiggins, Jr. and wife Belinda, Bill Wiggins and wife Wanda, all of Rockingham; daughter, Cathy Parker of Glendale, AZ; grandchildren, Aaron Wiggins, Austin Wiggins, Johnathan Biddix, Joshua Biddix, Taylor Biddix, Tanya Lovin, Joshua Shaw; great grandchildren, Nathan Shaw, Nicholas Selig, Logan Biddix; brothers, Henry Moore, Jr. and wife Brenda, Ricky Moore and wife Brenda, both of Greensboro; sisters, Pam Summey of Greensboro, Peggy O’Brien and husband John of Lincolnton; brothers-in-law Carl Morgan of Salisbury, Bobby Wiggins; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 3 pm Wednesday at the Rockingham Church of God of Prophecy with Pastor Steve Gilmer, Rev. Russell Edwards and Rev. James Lanter officiating. Interment will follow in Richmond County Memorial Park. The family will see friends from 6 to 9 pm Tuesday at the Rockingham Church of God of Prophecy and at other times at the home. Memorials may be made to the Rockingham Church of God of Prophecy, 139 Flowers St, Rockingham, NC 28379 or to Richmond County Hospice, 1119 N US Hwy1, Rockingham, NC 28379.
