Helen Virginia Rush

Helen V. Rush Helen Virginia Haywood Rush, 59, of 107 Pinebark Trail, Rockingham died Tuesday March 13, 2012 in First Health Moore Regional Hospital. Born July 9, 1952 in Marlboro County, SC, a daughter of the late James and Lizzie Mae Teague Haywood, she was a homemaker and an active member of Highland Pines Baptist Church until her health prevented her from attending. She was preceded in death by her brothers James Haywood, Jr. and Clyde Haywood, sisters; Wanda Ann Haywood, Thelma Norton, Frances Sanders, Dorothy Haywood and Shirley Haywood. She is survived by her husband Tony Rush of the home, a son Christopher Jerome “Chris” Haywood and wife Luann of Hamlet a daughter, Amy Lynn Turner and boyfriend Dale Gardner of the home, three brothers; Edward Haywood of Laurel Hill, Earl Lee Haywood and Charles Haywood both of Laurinburg and a sister, Barbara Ann Haywood of Orrum, NC. Also surviving are her six grandchildren; Ski Paschal, Fleasha Paschal, Krista Haywood, Courtney Turner, Zachary Gardner and Jonathan Powell. A service to celebrate her life will be held at 2:00 pm., Friday March 16, 2012 at Carter Colonial Chapel in Rockingham officiated by Bishop Marvin Taylor. Burial will follow in Ellerbe Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7-9:00 pm Thursday March 15, 2012 at Carter Funeral Home in Rockingham and other times at the home.
