Thomas Durant Deason

Mr. Thomas Durant Deason Sr, 77 of Rockingham died Thursday, March 22, 2012 at FirstHealth Richmond Memorial Hospital. Thomas was born January 10, 1935 a son of the late Harvey and Nora Cheves Deason in Mt. Crogan in Chesterfield County S.C. He retired from the U.S. Army in May of 1974. He was greens keeper for Willow Lake Golf Course at Pope Air Force Base.. He is also preceded in death by one sister Mildred Miller. He is survived by his wife Jeanette Sanders Deason of the home, sons Thomas Durant “Rocky” Deason Jr. and wife Myra, Michael Deason and wife Bridgett both of Rockingham, daughters Donna D. Browder and husband David, Tammy D. McDonald and husband Ralph both of Rockingham, one sister Clarice Locke of Hamlet, Grandchildren Jeremey Bailey, Isaiah Browder, Amanda Young, Jennifer McCroskey, Michael Thomas Deason, Amber Janel Deason, Matthew Chavis, Ashley Hilchey, Christina Brigman and Justin Landon, along with eight great grandchildren. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 P.M. Sunday, March 25, 2012 at Beverly Hills Baptist Church with Rev. Mickey Briles officiating. Interment will be held at Northam Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday from 6:00-8:00 P.M. at Carter Funeral Home of Rockingham and at other times at the home.
