David Andrew Hildreth, 70, of Rockingham, passed away Monday, March 28, 2012 at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital in Pinehurst following a brief illness. David was born March 20, 1942 in Winchedon, MA, a son of the late James and Frances Harrington Hildreth. He was a graduate of Murdoch High School in Winchendon, Ma and Wentworth Institute in Boston, MA. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Rockingham and worked with Stogner Architecture in Rockingham. David loved his work, reading, NASCAR, traveling, church, and family. Surviving are his wife of 28 years, Betty Burcham Hildreth of the home; children, Patrick (Darcie) Hildreth of Longmont, CO, Timothy (Kelly) Hildreth of Cumming, GA, Kate Hildreth and companion Dale Smith of Roswell, GA, Jody Costner of Dallas, GA, Wes Costner and companion Vicki of Dallas, GA, Tammy (Gaylon) Hinson of Newton, NC; twelve grandchildren; one great-grandchild; brothers, Stephen (Anne) Hildreth of Hudson, MA, Philip Hildreth of Gardner, MA; aunt, Marion Witt of Cebalo, Texas; and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 11 am Saturday at First Baptist Church in Rockingham with Rev. Dr. Jim Nelson and Rev. Debbie Holloway officiating. Entombment will be Sunday at 2 pm at Catawba Memorial Park in Hickory with Rev. Ken Swanson officiating. The family will see friends from 6 to 8 pm Friday at Carter Funeral Home in Rockingham and at other times at the home. Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church, 210 N.
