Mrs. Thelma Mims Rogers, 67, of 111 Military Lane, Rockingham died Friday, September 7, 2007 at her home. She was born February 2, 1940 in Richmond County, a daughter of the late Earline Brewer and John Franklin Mims. She was a beloved mother and grandmother and baptized in the Baptist faith. Funeral service will be conducted 10:00 am Monday, September 10th in the Carter Funeral Home Colonial Chapel with Bishop Marvin Taylor and Dr. Howard Johnson officiating. Interment will follow in Richmond Memorial Park. Surviving are her husband, Carl Rogers of the home; daughters, Debbie Shaw and husband Dennis and Pam Self and husband Vernon, all of Rockingham; sons, Earl Poston and wife Shirley of Rockingham, Jason Rogers and Jackie Rogers, both of Coos Bay, OR; brothers, Danny Mims and wife Jane of Rockingham, Russell Delane and wife Billie of Rock Hill, SC and John Franklin Mims of Lancaster, SC; nine grandchildren, and six great grandchildren. Mrs. Rogers was preceded in death by brothers and sisters, Alma Locklear, Charlie Mims, Jake Mims, Frank Mims, Ruby Hinson, and Mary Black. The family will receive friends Sunday evening from 6 to 8 pm at Carter Funeral Home in Rockingham and other times at the home.
