Julia Evans Cottingham

Julia Evans Cottingham 78, of Rockingham died Saturday, March 31, 2012 at Lilly Bennett Nursing Center in Wadesboro N.C Julia was born in Richmond County on March 7, 1934 a daughter of the late James M. and Vera Belle Simmons Evans. She graduated from Rohanen High School and attended Richmond Community Collage and Sandhills Community Collage. She was a legal secretary for a law office. She was a member of Pine Grove Baptist Church. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Jack. W. Cottingham and one son Jamie E. Cottingham. She is survived by one son Jack W. “Jackie" Cottingham Jr. and wife Janice of Hamlet, three sisters, Louise Carbary, Barbara Watkins and husband Jerry, and Vickie Evans all of Rockingham, and five grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, April 4, 2012 at 11:00 A.M. at Pine Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Corey Wilson officiating. Interment will follow at Eastside Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday April 3, 2012 from 6:00-8:00 P.M. at Carter Funeral Home and at other times at her sister Barbara’s home.
