John Lee Siner, 80, of Rockingham, passed away, Monday, April 16, 2012 at Richmond Pines Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Hamlet. John was born July 27, 1931 in Muskogee, Oklahoma, the first of five children born to Barney and Lula Utley Siner. For many years he operated a lawn mower repair business from his home. He was preceded in death by his parents, step-father Clyde Saunders, brother and sister-in-law Richard and Polly Siner, sister Betty Butler, nephew Robert Butler and niece Lynda Siner. Surviving are his sister Barbara Wainright of Rockingham; brother, Claude Siner and wife Bea of Darlington, SC; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be at 11 am Thursday, April 19, 2012 in the Colonial Chapel of Carter Funeral Home in Rockingham with Rev. Sharon Brooks officiating. Graveside services will be at 2:30 pm Thursday at Indian Branch Cemetery in Darlington, SC with Rev. Bruce Kimbrell officiating. The family will see friends from 6 to 8 pm Wednesday at Carter Funeral Home and at other times at the Wainright home, 136 Patterson St., Rockingham. The family would like to thank the staff of Richmond Pines Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, the Doctors and staff of Sandhills Regional Medical Center and the staff of Richmond County/Anson Community Hospice for their dedicated care given to John.
