Mary Grice “Dot” McDuffie 88, of Murrell Inlet, S.C. formerly of Rockingham died Tuesday, April 24, 2012 at Grand Strand Health Care in Myrtle Beach S.C. Dot was born November 06, 1923 in Richmond County, a daughter of the late John Stanley and Carrie Rainwater Grice. She worked at J.P Stevens. She was preceded in death by her husband Arthur Lee McDuffie, a son Danny Lee McDuffie Sr., her brothers and sisters Simon Rainwater, Juanita G. McCumbee, James Grice, Nancy G. Robertson, Zodie Grice, Evelyn G. Smith, George Grice, Tilmon Grice, Ruth Polson and Stanley Grice Jr. She is survived by her children, Phyllis M. Melton and husband Mitchell, Mark McDuffie, daughters-in-law Polly R. McDuffie, and Sandra Marshall, grandchildren, Michelle Connelly, Mitchell Lewis Melton Jr., Mary Ann M. Prevatte, Danny Lee McDuffie Jr, great grandchildren, Amber Ruth Faulk, Carrie L. Connelly, Raven Prevatte, Jasmine Prevatte, Olivia M. Connelly, great great grandchild Matthew Lee Brigman, host of nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and lifelong loving friends and church members. Funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday, April 28, 2012, at the Community Church with Rev. Robbie Stewart and Rev. Quinton Covington officiating. Interment will follow at Richmond County Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Friday, April 27, 2012, from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Carter Funeral Home in Rockingham.
