Bessie Mae Raines Hines, 91 of 840 Capel Mill Road Ellerbe died Wednesday May 2, 2012 at her home. Born August 14, 1920 in Surry County, NC a daughter of the late John and Cora Noah Raines, she was a homemaker and alongside her husband operated a family farm in Ellerbe. She was a member of Concord United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Fred, her brothers, Clyde, Harry, Oma, and Fred Raines, sisters, Versie Raines Moore and Agnes Raines McDonald. She is survived by her sons Alan and Lester W. Hines of Ellerbe, brothers; Arnold and Marlene Raines of Kannapolis, Clarence and Annabelle Raines of Ellerbe, Ralph and Sylvia Raines of Cordova, sisters; Thelma Clarke and husband Charles of Falls Church, Va., Nolan Raines Brookshire of Mt. Gilead, NC and one step grandchild Funeral services will be held 3:00 Sunday May 6, 2012 at Concord United Methodist Church, Rev. Dena White and Rev. Donnie Davis will officiate. Burial will follow in Chappell Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Carter Funeral Home in Ellerbe Saturday evening from 6:00-8:00pm.
