Shirley Terry Ludlum, 82, of Ellerbe, passed away, Friday, May 4, 2012 at Firsthealth Richmond Memorial Hospital in Rockingham. Mrs. Ludlum was born August 31, 1929 in Richmond County, a daughter of the late Marvin and Pearlie Jenkins Terry. She was a member of Rourk Presbyterian Church and a homemaker. She was preceded in death by her husband, Albert Franklin Ludlum and a sister Pauline Dawkins. Surviving are her children, Frankie (Wanda) Ludlum of Rockingham, Jerry (Evelyn) Ludlum of Hamlet, Ruthie (Milton) Smith of Rockingham, Scotty (Bonnie) Ludlum of Scotland Neck; grandchildren, Nikki (Robbie) Wiggins, Amanda Ludlum, Josh (Beth) Ludlum, Adam Ludlum, Corey Smith , Shelby Ludlum, Sydney Ludlum, Hope (Wayne) Potter, Emily (Greg) Troxler, Teresa McCormick, Jeff (Jane) Scruggs; 16 great-grandchildren; sisters, Barbara (Joe) Smith of Rockingham, Pat (Arthur Lee) McDonald of Rockingham, Ruby Smith of Ellerbe, Jewel (Jim) Hancock of Rockingham, Hazel Dawkins of Rockingham, Mabel (Jim) Moore of Kannapolis and Bert (John) Renegarof Waxhaw. Funeral services will be at 3 pm Monday at Rourk Presbyterian Church with Rev. John Stone officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will see friends from 6 to 8 pm Sunday at Carter Funeral Home in Ellerbe and at other times at the home on Gibson Nursery Road.
