Nancy Cloninger Mills, 93 of Ellerbe passed away at her home on Thursday, May 10, 2012. Nancy was born October 2, 1918 in Richmond County a daughter of the late Fred and Minnie Dellinger Cloninger. She was a member of McLean Presbyterian Church. She was a homemaker and a graduate of Ellerbe High School. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Clyde Mills in 1980. She is survived by her sons Perry Mills and wife Joyce of Hayesville N.C., Ray Mills and wife Mary Jean of Seymour, TN, Bobby Mills and wife Johnsie of Ellerbe, Coy Mills and wife Pat of Ellerbe, Roger Mills and wife Delores of South Port, N.C. daughters Joyce Ragan and husband Butch of Ellerbe, Ruby Mills of Ellerbe, Dorothy Mills of the home, Jean Page and husband Smitty of Cary N.C., one brother Fred Cloninger of Ellerbe. 10 Grandchildren and 13 Great Grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 3:00 P.M. at Carter Funeral Home Chapel in Ellerbe with Rev. John Stone officiating. Interment will follow at Ellerbe Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:45 -2:45 prior to the service and at other times and her son Coy’s home. The family request in Lieu of flowers contributions be made to ICE Epilepsy to benefit research for Dravet Syndrome, a condition that her great grandson Jack Berry suffers from daily.
