Pauline King Hinkle

Pauline May King Hinkle, 89, of 1906 Park Avenue, Rockingham, died Friday, May 18, 2012 at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital in Pinehurst. Mrs. Hinkle was born December 20, 1922 in Bridgeton, Rhode Island, a daughter of the late Fredrick Walter and Mildred May Carter King. She was a member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church for over 50 years, had retired as floor supervisor for the cloth room at JP Stevens and had been employed by Ethel's Flower Shop. She was preceded in death by her husband, Levi Hinkle, an infant son, brothers, Fred W. King, III, Arnold King, Leon King and a sister, Mildred Goff. Surviving are her daughters, Sharon Covington and Evelyn Davis, both of Rockingham; four grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild and sisters, Martha Davis of Nathalie, VA and Dorothy Conner of Aberdeen. Funeral services will be held at 2 pm Tuesday at Mt. Olive Baptist Church with Rev. Bryan Blackwell and Rev. Dr. A.B.Brown officiating. Interment will follow in Eastside Cemetery. The family will see friends from 12:45 to 1:45 pm Tuesday at the church and at other times at the home on Park Avenue. Memorials may be made to Mt. Olive Baptist Church, Building Fund, 596 E. Washington St. Ext., Rockingham, NC 28379.
