Mrs. Bonnie Lou Taylor Newby, 68, of 1001 Jefferson St. Hamlet passed away Thursday, October 04, 2007 at Hospice Have of Rockingham. Mrs. Newby was born August 2, 1939 in Bracken County, Kentucky, a daughter of the late Glenn Helvie and Neppie Dennis Taylor. She was a member of Second Baptist Church of Hamlet, had been employed as a Jewelry Consultant with Macy’s Department Store in Hamilton, New Jersey and had operated an Art Gallery in Millville, New Jersey. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Tony Taylor and a sister, Joan Bennett Kelly. Surviving are her husband, George R. Newby of the home, daughters Dawn Hendricks and husband Donnie of St. Bernard, Ohio, Christal Williams and husband Jeremy of Hamlet, sons, William Thomas and wife Leigh of Maysville, Kentucky, Khristopher Taylor and Paul Taylor of Rockingham, grandchildren, Nicholas Hendricks, Ashleigh Hendricks, Taylor Hendricks, Joshua Golden, Ciara GoldenChloe Williams, Zachary Thomas, and Nicole Thomas, great grandchildren, Joshua Thomas, Jeremiah Thomas and Peyton Hendricks. Also surviving are her brothers, Wesley England of Cincinatti, Ohio, Dennis Taylor of Redding, Ohio and sisters, Linda Williams of Falmouth, Kentucky and Diana French of Maysville, Kentucky. A service to celebrate Mrs. Newby’s life will be held at 2:00 PM Sunday in the Colonial Chapel of Carter Funeral Home in Rockingham with Rev. James Lankford officiating. Interment will be private. The family will greet friends from 6:00 – 8:00 PM Saturday at Carter Funeral Home in Rockingham and at other times at the home on Jefferson St..
