Betty Singletary Quick, 81, of 126 Church Street, Rockingham died Saturday June 16, 2012 at her home. She was born January 3, 1931, a daughter of the late Cape V. and Effie Shaw Singletary . She was a weaver and inspector for JP Stevens for 45 years and was preceded in death by her parents and brothers; Curtis, Willard, Charles and Edward “Jack” Singletary. Betty was a faithful longtime member of Community Church. Funeral services will be held 4:00 pm Tuesday at Community Church officiated by Rev. Quinton Covington. Burial will follow in Eastside Cemetery. She is survived by her sons; Kenneth Quick and wife Mary of Aberdeen, Curtis Edward “Mousie” Quick and wife Brenda of Rockingham, a daughter, Shelia Quick Driggers and husband Cliff of Bennettsville, brothers; Ronald Singletary and wife Yvonne of Rockingham, Richard Singletary and wife Robin of Southport and Keith Singletary and wife Lita of Hamlet, a sister, Katherine”Inez” Kaplan of Raleigh. Also surviving are 6 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. The family will receive friends one hour prior to services at the church. Suite 125 Raleigh, NC 27604-1043. Carter Funeral Home of Rockingham is serving the family.
